3 Labor Unions Latest to Join Broad Coalition Supporting Anderson Kelliher Heading into August 14 Primary

(Minneapolis, MN – August 3, 2018) – Today, Margaret Anderson Kelliher, candidate for Minnesota’s open 5th Congressional District seat, received the endorsements of the Ironworkers Local 512, the Roofers and Waterproofers Local 96, and the Cement Masons Local 633.

“I am proud to receive the endorsements of the Ironworkers Local 512, the Roofers and Waterproofers Local 96, and the Cement Masons Local 633. Ironworkers, roofers, waterproofers and cement masons build and improve the 5th district each and every day. Labor is under attack now more than ever. In Congress, I will work to protect Minnesotans’ hard-earned pensions, stand-up for the right to collective bargaining, and I will never stop fighting for working families in the 5th District,” said Margaret Anderson Kelliher.

“The Ironworkers Local 512 is proud to stand with Margaret Anderson Kelliher in her race for Congress. Margaret is a fighter. She championed the override of Governor Pawlenty’s veto and passed a transportation funding package. Margaret Anderson Kelliher has what it takes to take on Donald Trump in Congress. She will fight for the rights of all working people and stand with us against attacks on our union, our families, and our prosperity,” said Barry Davies, Secretary and Treasurer of the Ironworkers Local 512.

"No one has fought more for our union values, equality in the workplace, apprenticeships and middle-class wages than Margaret. She has a proven track record of getting things done for Minnesota workers, and we at the Roofers and Waterproofers Local 96 are proud to support her," said Tristan Lundblad, Metro Organizer of the Roofers and Waterproofers Local 96.

Last week, Anderson Kelliher received the endorsement from the Minnesota Pipe Trades Association. Her campaign for Congress has gained the broadest support of currently-serving 5th Congressional District mayors, legislators, and county commissioners.
